Estonian Multicultural Organization was founded in April 2000 as a multinational umbrella organization.

«ЕМА» consist of 25 national and cultural societies, youth clubs, youth national minority groups of Estonia and other societies connected with national and cultural activity, also five Sunday Schools — Russian, Tatar, Ukrainian, Georgian and Belarusian, Belarusian working class in School of Kohtla-Jarve, and Japanese language lessons.

The main fields of «EMA» action are:

  • solving problems connected with integration of Russian-speaking citizens in Estonian-speaking society;
  • cooperation support between cultural societies of national minorities;
  • saving national identity;
  • realization of projects in partnership with Estonia, Russia and Latvia;
  • propagation of multicultural Estonia;
  • integration into European society etc.

 

«EMA» is:

  • a member of a round table of national minorities at the minister of culture of Estonia;
  • a member of youth assembly of the people of Estonia at the ministry of culture of Estonia;
  • a member of working group in youth politicians and work with youth PRAXIS;
  • a member of a round table in introduction Eesti Lõimumiskava 2009-2013;
  • a member of EMSL.

 

From the moment, association has been established, «Eesti Mitmekultuuriline Assotsiatsioon» realizes various projects in such areas as culture, sports, formation, integration, youth and social work. Association holds festivals, exhibitions, camp, round tables, lectures, seminars, excursions, theatrical representations, concerts, meetings with various figures etc.

 

«EMA» cooperates with socially legal institutes: institute of society development and institute of strategic researches in Estonia.

 

All year long «Eesti Mitmekultuuriline Assotsiatsioon» arranges events in Estonia, and abroad. Members and organizations of «EMA» participate in the international projects and programs in Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Israel, Bulgaria, Finland, Ukraine etc.

 

«Eesti Mitmekultuuriline Assotsiatsioon» coordinates activity of below-mentioned informal clubs and associations: «Latin quarter», association of the pupils in Tallinn, club of extreme sports «Adrenaline», the Tallinn ballet community, club of young politicians «Figure». «EMA» is one of the founders of the program «People Next Door» at the international film festival PÖFF.

 

«Eesti Mitmekultuuriline Assotsiatsioon» closely cooperates with the organizations of public, private and third sector in Estonia, and in the world (Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Malta, Bulgaria and ect).
